FFAC Recap - Week 5: Better Late

The nice thing (for me) about not having Thursday Night Football this week is I got a whole 3 extra days to whip up the recap. Even then, my inner procrastinator proved strong. Still, on this fine, chilly Sunday morning (for those of us still in Chicago, at least), here’s your weekly dosage of “what the hell is Danny even talking about.”

As always, check out this weeks podcast if you haven’t.

Recap

Another week of pretty handy victories as only 1 match was within single digits and 5 teams failed to put up 100 points. Still, the victors and losers from Week 4 decided (for the most part) to flip flop so we got the majority of the league within a game of each other at either 3-2 or 2-3.

It’s Week 6 Sunday so I’ll speed through the results.

Fireball beat Danny
MJ beat Zach
Stefan beat Ryan
Jay beat Ben
Cody beat Shelby
Adam beat Kelly

The biggest thing to note, IMO, is that MJ has now moved into 6th and a playoff spot, so never let anyone tell you that points scored doesn’t matter. Also Chase Claypool put up the best Week 5 of all fantasy players for Ryan. Unfortunately that didn’t translate to a win. Chase. Claypool. What?

That said, it’s still too early to talk about playoff predictor & percentages, but know that it is coming.

Stats

Avg Margin: 30.87
Biggest Blowout: 49.02 (Fireball)
Closest Match: 6.64 (Cody, 2x)
High Score: 137.10 (MJ)
Low Score: 81.44 (Ben)
Avg Score: 109.55
Best Player: 39.10 (Ryan, Chase Claypool)

Week 6 Preview

As you’re grabbing your morning coffee or mimosas or brekkie or lunch, try not to be too nervous because a lot of byes this week as well as potentially creating some social distance in the standings, or keep it all packed together.

MJ (-5) v Kelly
Zach (-3) v Shelby
Ryan (+0.1) v Jay (wow)
Stefan (-4.5) v Adam
Ben (-25) v Fireball (no kicker again)
Danny (+3) v Cody

Going with MJ, Zach, Ryan, Stefan, Ben, Cody. I don’t have a meme for you today but I’m making this bfast sammie.
